Ghorepani poonhill Trek, also known as Poon Hill Trek, is a relatively easy walk meandering through villages and rhododendron forests. This invigorating trek showcases some of the best views of Annapurna and neighboring Himalayas especially from the Poon Hill. The added presence of rice terraces completes the picture making Poon Hill a photographer's paradise. The trek begins with sightseeing of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. After which we take a flight to Pokhara, the real walking begins from Nayapul. we then trek to the beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk and enjoy the ethnic hospitality along with the cultural magnificence of Gurung Museum. Trekking through the rhododendron forests that bloom with red flowers during the springtime, descending down to Birethanti, and passing by waterfalls and a few small villages and settlements will be a thrilling experience. We walk further to Naya Pul and then drive to Pokhara which marks the end of this marvelous trek.

Physical Conditions and Experience Requirements

9 days of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is considered as moderate. If you jog or perform morning walks regularly then it would not be any problem for you to walk on the trail. However, it is highly recommended that you should start doing mild exercises one month prior to your trekking date. This would help in creating best Himalayan walking holiday experience. Having said that, it should be noted Technical Skill are not needed. The major hurdle is an altitude. Therefore, person having past medical history of lung, heart and blood diseases are extremely advised to consult your doctor before embarking on this journey. 

Best Time to Travel

The best time to view Majestic Mountain vistas are during spring season (March to May) and autumn season (September to November). During this time of the year blossoming lush forests and cool temperature make your trip mesmerizing. However, during winter season also trekking in Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is open. Because of cold weather the walking holiday might not be as exciting as in spring & autumn.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu:

Up on arrival at Kathmandu we will welcome you and arrange to transfer to hotel by a private vehicle with driver. It's takes about 20 minutes. We offer you welcome drink and brief your trip at the hotel then after check in hotel. After refreshment you may walk around the street.Evening welcome dinner with Nepali cultural dance show. Overnight at hotel.


Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu:

After breakfast and our guide take you for the heritage and culture sightseeing in Kathmandu. Morning you will visit Boudhanath and Pashupatinath. Afternoon after lunch you will visit Shoyambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. After sightseeing drive back to hotel and overnight at hotel.


Day 03: Heading to Pokhara and  visit Pokhara:

Get up early in the morning and have breakfast. Drive to the Pokhara.You may use flight also. Evening arrive in Pokhara and check in hotel. Once when u been there you may do 1 hr boating at fewa lake. You may explore around the street on foot. Return back to hotel and overnight at hotel.


Day 04: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1575m):

We head to Nayapul by a private vehicle with driver (1.30 hrs).The trek starts from Nayapool to Trikhedhunga (1575m) crossing the village of Birethanti and following the bank of Bhurungdi Khola. We rest overnight at Tikhedhunga.


Day 05: Trek from Tikhedhunga (1575m) to Ghorepani (2657m):

Morning have a breakfast and start to trek. Our trail is ascent gradually and gets more altitudes places. Our trail goes through the village of Ulleri (2070m) and we will enable to see the close up view of Fishtail, Hinchuli and Annapurna South. Our trail will be more colorful while our trail passes from Rhododedron and shadowy trees. Finally we will get Ghorepani (2675m). Overnight at lodge.


 Day 6: Visit Poon Hill (3210m) and Trek to Tadapani (2675m) – 6 hours

Get up early in the morning and you will hike to Poon Hill. You will enjoy the beautiful sunrise view over the mountain and superb Mountain View of Mt. Dhulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m), Varaha Shikar (7847m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna I (7937m), Machhapuchhare (6993m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Lamjung Himal (6931m) and other various mountain. We will return back to Ghorepani and have a breakfast. After our breakfast our trail continuous goes crossing rhododendron forest and we will get Tadapani. Overnight at logde.


Day 07: Trek from Tadapani (2675m) to Ghandruk (1950m) and Nayapul – 6 hours

Heading to Tadapani. Now our trail slowly descends to The Ghandruk village watching Annapurna Mountains and crossing the rhododendron and oak forest. We get Ghadruk Village of Gurung. After launch we are heading to Pokhara.Overnight at Pokhara Hotel.


Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu:

Wake up early morning then back to Kathmandu. You will drive to Kathmandu, its take 7 hours. Arrive in Kathmandu by evening and check in hotel. Overnight at hotel.


Day 09: Farewell friend:

We will drop you at the airport as per your flight time. Farewell friend.
